The skipper course for those who want to enter this world and for those who already have experience.
Two days of group activities on the management of the boat. In turn, you will take command and direct the crew in the manoeuvres of mooring and unmooring, anchoring, hoisting and lowering sails, gaits and basic manoeuvres.
The course is aimed at those who have already sailed a few miles and/or participated in the sailing course. On board a 40-foot cruising catamaran we will tackle the particularities of sailing and motor manoeuvres of catamarans, fast and safe sailing, the ability to manage sail reduction and tacking and lowering manoeuvres independently.
COURSES
We have devised three educational courses
- Week end dedicated to multihull manoeuvres (dedicated to those potentially interested in hiring or purchasing a catamaran and wishing to acquire the necessary skills)
Theory of catamaran handling developed during practical sessions (predominant)
Manoeuvring in confined spaces / Mooring / Anchoring
Special problems of multihulls and solo handling of manoeuvres
Management of multihull sailing with its characteristics and peculiarities (about 30% of the course duration).
- 3-day internship - Thursday evening/Friday morning - for skippers who already sail monohulls and want to improve their multihull skills.
Teaching is as above, but with a more in-depth focus on solo handling and on-board equipment such as: desalinator, air conditioning system, generator, inverter, etc.
- Customised midweek courses of one or more days
During the week, with a minimum number of two people, we can organise courses tailored to the needs of the participants. Costs from € 200 per person.

NOTES: The base of our activities is the marina of Fezzano in La Spezia where it is possible to use some facilities suitable for accommodation ashore (Hotel, B&B, hostel, if you do not want to share a cabin on board) and where there are many marinas, piers and moorings available for maneuvering, as well as many bays where you can easily anchor.
The last of the four practical courses dedicated to the training of our skippers takes place on board a cruising sailing catamaran. The theme is the management of the sailing and motor catamaran's handling and manoeuvres in restricted waters. Mondovela Skipper Sailing Training trains both keen sailors to become autonomous in the command of their sailing boats and catamarans and those who wish to become skippers in Mondovela's catamaran and sailing boat charter holiday flotillas.
