The sea in front of us as a question, a limit, a challenge, a dream to be fulfilled, a hope. Liguria has given great navigators and discoverers of unknown lands. And every time you go there, in spite of the traffic, tourism and buildings of dubious taste of the past years, all you have to do is slip into a small caruggio from which you can see the blue, and as rarely elsewhere, you can hear the sea. And then the perfumes, the simple and irresistible temptations of a hot focaccia or pesto comme il faut. Everything conspires to make us return, always, like magnets. Mondovela has a close relationship with Liguria, and can offer boats, catamarans, motor boats of the highest level for hire and/or individual boarding. Typically here navigation is along the coast, "bordesando", but the north of Corsica and the French Riviera are destinations within a weekend's reach, if you start from the east and west respectively, with Genoa favoured for both alternatives. In addition, this is a focal point of the Pelagos marine mammal sanctuary, fortunately increasingly richer, and exciting encounters with whales, sperm whales and dolphins are the order of the day. Renting a boat or catamaran from our bases in Le Grazie or Lavagna, it will be very easy to enter the mood of places hailed for their beauty and uniqueness. The Cinque Terre, a parade of villages, some of them overlooking the sea, masterpieces of architectural ingenuity and daring, but also incomparable romantic scenery. Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, Monterosso al Mare, five pearls to be admired and when it is possible to dock, to be visited absolutely, going up stairs and alleys, makes flower windowsills, small shops, taverns that mix the famous white. Further east, still on the La Spezia Riviera, there is the Golfo dei Poeti, with the magic of Portovenere that inspired and bewitched Byron, and the seabed of the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto, very popular for snorkelling. The bays of Lerici, with the famous beaches and the castle dominating the lively old town, the picturesque and secluded village of Tellaro, are a reminder of day and night. In the west a succession of famous resorts, from Finale to Alassio, from Sanremo to Bordighera, now connected by long stretches of cycle path, an excellent idea to combine sailing and cycling.
