"Ah, I would not ask to be a seagull, nor a dolphin; I would be content to be a redfish, which is the ugliest fish in the sea, just to find myself over there, joking in that water. (The Island of Arturo - Elsa Morante)
It's hard to imagine a more romantic setting in the Gulf of Naples, with the islands and the Sorrento Peninsula sung by poets and writers and magnified by the international jet set. The mildness of the climate, the friendliness of the people, the deliciousness of the food, the light of the sunset on stacks and pastel-coloured houses do not cease to amaze and enchant even the regulars. The cabin charters or cruise cabins with boats or catamarans selected by Mondovela in Campania allow you to sail between now mythical places, from Vietri to Sorrento, from Positano to Amalfi, which look like nativity scenes set on the coast, and the islands, Capri, Ischia, Procida, each different, yet acclaimed as an indissoluble unicum in the repertoire of the beauties of the world. The dreamy atmosphere of this sea invites to relax, but every stop stimulates activity and discovery and, for sure, the desire to have fun. If we talk about the islands, sailing around Capri means deep blue and famous places, such as the Blue Grotta, the Faraglioni, guardians of the island, the jump of Tiberius, Punta Tragara, the wonderful Grotto. A visit to the famous little square and the narrow streets with all kinds of shops and many trendy clubs, often visited by VIPs and famous people from all over the world, is a must. And then to look for unrivalled views, going up by chairlift to Mount Solaro or, following the ancient vocation of Capri as a very happy holiday resort, the Roman villa of Emperor Tiberius immersed in an enchanting garden. Extensive and verdant Ischia is a seductive island, with fishing villages and villages, castles and thermal springs, adored by Italians and foreigners for its people and its delicious fruits, including the famous wines of Mount Epomeneo. Sailing allows you to touch the most beautiful beaches and the most coveted loops, for unforgettable baths. Every now and then turtles and dolphins show up, confirming the integrity of the protected marine area. You can moor at Sant'Angelo one of the most fascinating villages on the island, closed to traffic, made up of small houses leaning against each other. The beach of Cava Grado is practically the strip of land that joins the village to the islet, full of small places. Once there you can choose between two thermal parks, the Tropical and the Aphrodite, much loved by Angela Merkel. In an ideal itinerary you cannot miss Lacco Ameno, Forio, Barano, Casamicciola with their beaches kissed by a very clear sea. The very fresh fish and the famous rabbit are just some of the delicacies of Ischia not to be missed.
Procida is the least worldly of the three islands of the Gulf of Naples, and perhaps for this reason it has maintained an air of authenticity that has remained unchanged over time, with its simple and rustic houses but so in tune with the Mediterranean environment. Its being somehow genuine and popular, compared to its "sisters", has made it particularly appreciated by artists and poets. And it has made it a film set for films like The Postman and The Talented Mr. Ripley. You arrive in Marina Grande, and then wander around, perhaps aboard a nice bee-taxi, through narrow streets and small squares until you reach the historic centre of Procida, the village of Terra Murata, perched around the Castle of the D'Avalos who dominated the island from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century. Surrounded by walls for defensive purposes, it preserves inside the Castle and the Benedictine Abbey of San Michele Arcangelo, with an extraordinary position overlooking the sea.
